You hear of other business owners hiring a marketing consultant, they hit their targets, and they’re super focussed on growing their company. But is working with a marketing consultant the right thing for you and your business?

Whilst marketing consultants have their many merits (obviously I’m going to say that!), some business owners are sceptical. Here we’re looking at the reasons why hiring a marketing consultant may not work for you or your business.

Putting your faith in someone else

It’s an investment, hiring a marketing consultant. And as, in many cases, your business is your baby, you find trusting someone else to represent it in the way you’d like to, a bit tricky. And so, you shy away from working with others, even if it could help your business to grow.

You find marketing easy peasy lemon squeezy! You schedule time in your diary to focus on it every week and you’re getting results. Why would you need anyone else’s help?

You have a clear plan of action

You’re not winging it. You know exactly what your business and marketing goals are. You’ve planned out your marketing activities to achieve these goals.

You don’t do patient

Marketing takes time to work – are you patient enough to wait to see the rewards?

It’s rare these days that a business launches a website, plonks itself on social media, and is an overnight success. Marketing takes time to build and establish a brand.

You’ve hit your sales target…

…and that’s enough. Why would you want to over achieve in your sales?

You don’t have enough to do already

But I’m hoping that reading between the lines, you can see the reasons why you should at least consider hiring a marketing consultant – like me!

You’ll find that many marketing consultants are highly trained and experienced, and what you actually get by working with them, is a desire for them to help your business to thrive. They differ from large agencies as you’ll be working with someone at director level, not having your work passed on to a junior.
